Common Orthopedic Surgeries

I offer orthopedic surgeries to treat joint disease such as Cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) disease. Specific CCL surgeries include: 

• Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO)

• Cranial closing wedge osteotomy (CCWO)

• Tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA)

• Standard lateral suture with crimps

• Tightrope lateral suture

We can discuss hip diseases such as hip luxation/dysplasia and procedures as FHO, toggle pin, or total hip replacement (referral procedure).

In catastrophic cases I perform frontlimb and hindlimb amputations when needed.

I perform a range of soft tissue surgical procedures to address various medical conditions. My goal is to educate pet owners and ensure excellent surgical outcomes while addressing the specific needs of your pet and ensuring a speedy recovery.

General Soft Tissue Surgery

• Routine spay and castrations

• Tumor and mass removal

• Gastrointestinal surgery (foreign body removal, GDV correction, open gastropexy)

• Wound repair and laceration management

• Enucleation 

Reconstructive & Cosmetic Surgery

• BOAS surgery such as Soft Palate Resection and Stenotic Nares Surgery (Rhinoplasty) - Improves airflow in patients with Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome.

• Skin Fold Reduction 

• Eyelift – Corrects eyelid abnormalities such as entropion or ectropion

Fracture Repair and Trauma Surgery

Internal Fracture Fixation and Trauma Reconstruction

Accidents happen and unfortunately bones break or joints are damaged. My ultimate goal is to appropriately advise and perform fracture fixation repairs to ensure a great outcome and avoid amputations if possible.

Methods used include

• Internal fixation methods including bone plates and interlocking nails

• Combination Repairs with other internal fixation methods (screws, wires, IM pins). 

• Tendon and ligament repair.

• When needed, high quality titanium implants are utilized in repairs.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Laproscopic Procedures

Minimally invasive surgery uses laproscopic technology for procedures such as spay (ovariectomy), prophylactic gastropexy, cryptorchid neuter, biopsy (intestinal, liver), and exploratory abdominal procedures.

While more expensive, minimally invasive techniques result in less time under anesthesia, decreased blood loss, quicker recovery time, and a lot less pain for your pet.
